Rock Roxx

I feel like a bit of Gerry Rafferty...Baker Street.

Yeah, I almost bought a fastback Baracuda just like that one, Many moons ago (late 70's). Almost... I still Kick myself for not doing it. Water under the bridge, eh mate?:)
Yup, water under the bridge. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Ya never know bro the door may open so you can purchase one in the future at a better price.

Seeing as this started with Pink Floyd, and I just Spotify Shuffled into this album, I'll share Blood Incantation's Absolute Elsewhere. Specifically, The Stargate, because it's got a dope video. I love continuous albums.

Please note that this is death metal that uses some progressive, space, and psychedelic rock elements. I think it's my favorite album.

And... the song from this album that comes on Spotify and I think it's Pink Floyd when I'm inactively listening (at 1:33)...

Meh... Why not?

This is a couple of other people and myself covering Guns N Roses' song "Patience":

I belong to a private forum where we exchange music we've made every week, particularly on Friday nights. Well, I strive for Friday nights but that's a night of the week that's not always possible 'cause people do things on Friday night. (Before the pandemic I was still actively performing. I haven't done so in a while and I'm feeling the itch again.)

The name of the file won't make sense to people here. It makes sense elsewhere. "B" is the missus, covering the rhythm guitar. "J" is a lady friend who plays everything from keys to violin - and is on bass in this recording. "TB" is me, playing Slash's bits for this rendition.

It's a private group, but I can ask the others.

What instruments do you play? How long have you been playing? What genres do you normally play?

What is the name of the private Music Group?

That kind of defeats the purpose of being private, now doesn't it?

I don't play myself, I would run events, and supply talent, for Gigs, comic cons, Meet & Greets, Personal appearances, worked with many in the day from Guns n Roses, Kings of Chaos, Taylor Swift, Madonna, etc,

Oh, we don't all perform in public or anything like that. It's just a thread that happens weekly where we share music.

To stay on topic...

Here's a cover of a song that shouldn't be obscure. Everybody should know this song:

B. B. King - The Thrill Is Gone (B R & B; J K; TB L & P)

A few months ago, I tested out a few sites. In the end, I decided to start using Mega.nz for uploading and sharing. They fit the bill nicely. Many sites decide that a bunch of my tracks violate copyright (they do not). I actually consider that a compliment. Most musicians can upload their covers to sites like YouTube and not worry about it.

Mega.nz uses a zero-knowledge approach. Everything is encrypted. It's even encrypted during playback, uploading, downloading, etc... That means they don't seem too inclined to police my account for excuses to remove content.

ok I take it that being so private, means NO ONE GETS INVITED / well no harm done

NO ONE GETS INVITED

Invites happen. They're just sparingly given. We like to know who we're inviting and what they bring to the table. We're also a fairly tightly knit group of people, with an origin date way back in 2017. But, yes, invites do happen. The last new person was added about 5 months ago.

Remember that patience is a virtue.

Works fine on my Firefox here in Queensland.

Might be a New South Wales thing, lol.

I have the finish line in sight on reviewing the concerts I have seen, and I have been wracking my brains thinking "I have missed one".

Then a day or so ago one of my Besties here mentioned in a DM Annie Lennox and the penny dropped.

Eurthymics toured here in Oz 1984. 1987, 1989, and then the last time they were was was ten years later, 1999.

That latter one was the one I got to see, and it ranks in my top 5 concerts seen.

The setlist was

  • I Want It All
  • Missionary Man
  • Thorn In My Side
  • When Tomorrow Comes
  • It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)
  • I Saved The World Today
  • Who's That Girl?
  • Medley (I Love You Like a Ball and Chain / Would I Lie to You? / Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves)
  • 17 Again
  • You Have Placed A Chill In My Heart
  • I Need A Man
  • Walking On Broken Glass
  • There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)
  • The Miracle Of Love
  • Here Comes The Rain Again (Acoustic)
  • Why (Acoustic)
  • When The Day Goes Down
  • Peace Is Just A Word
  • Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

First song of hers I ever heard made a huge impression on me
