Good day
My name is John. I have just joined the list but I have been using Linux for some time. I would not place myself
as an expert but i have moved on from been new to linux.
a Long time ago when I was still young and attractive, I was using linux more in a corporate environment
i.e. internet server, mail server etc. Nowadays I use linux on my own Desktop as a work station. More
specifically running on a Raspberry pi 5 , 8G.
I also have VPS servers running in the cloud at places and also a few servers locally ( Raspberry pi 5 also !!! )
all running Ubuntu.
I would now like to break down the last of the Windows-empire in my office by installing linux on my laptop.
I am fedup with updates taking 2 days and in the process breaking stuff that used to work.
I am very much a fan of opensource and use some interesting opensource software e.g. OBS, Nagios, ERPNext....
I see there is a forum for "laptop" and will be tapping in there for some guidance around the install on my laptop.
Also in the days that I was still young and attractive, I used to do dual-boot often. I am just a bit cautious that I might think
it is a similar process and then find myself with my pants on my knees. So I trust that I shall find some info that will make
this process relatively smooth.
And although I am not a expert, as I have already mentioned, I shall try and assist others if I can.
Thank you for having me.
