I'm using Mint 22.3 and needed to import some pictures from a Canon ELPH camera. When I connect the camera via USB I get a window titled "Canon Digital Camera" with a folder titled "DCIM". I can't seem to open this folder. When I try "open with" VLC I get an error message "VLC is unable to open the MRL File://run/user/1000/grfs/gphoto2...) (etc.).
So I booted up Windows and got it done from there (Pictures sent to customer via E-mail).
I searched and found "Rapid Photo Downloader" and "Digikam" and I'll bet there are others. What do you guys use to simply import photos to your Pictures directory? Wouldn't Linux have a native program to accomplish this very basic operation? -Thanks! -BA
