Hello all
I'm new to Linux want to set up a desktop with both windows and Linux but what would be better, Windows in Linux virtual box
or Linux in Window virtual box so i can play with before i make a definite switch to Linux.
thanks

I'd just jump to Linux and then see if you still need a Windows virtual machine.

Though, I'di mage your drive first -- so that you can recover if you decide to go back to Windows.

If you're thinking of switching to Linux...you have two options...Virtualbox or downloading the Distro and burning it to a Flash Drive or creating a Ventoy Flash Drive.

This Ventoy Flash Drive was created in my windoze 7 VM...

You then just drag the Linux ISO in.

If your thinking about running from windows I would tell you to make a bootable flash drive. Setting up from virtualbox you will run into a few complexities such as configuring secure boot. Dual boot will have additional complexities. I run this way most of the time but its only because I support people who use windows. Really never boot into it unless I am trying to figure something out. Dual boot is kind of fragile and don't recommend it unless you really need to. If you are comfortable re imaging your drive if you want to go back to window the best method would be to just install the flavor of linux you like.

flavorous for your reply, yes decided to jump in Linux after trying a few flavors of linux will keep them separate
On their respective hd and if in need for windows just reboot from windows drive.
Thank again
