Boxes VM question

Hey I'm running Pop OS and installed Boxes to try out VM's but in there during setup it acts like it's going to install the chosen op sys to one of my HDD's, is it really or is that just make believe too? The drive it picks is my old Windows C drive and I don't want anything going on that one.
I'm running Pop os on an nvme as my main boot drive now and would rather leave that old C drive alone.

It should install chosen OS to virtual disk, which is just a file and can be configured to be placed anywhere, there should be option to choose destination.

btw. GNOME boxes is just an abstraction layer around QEMU/KVM, for full control you'll want to use qemu directly, using virt-manager UI.

you are fine. as already mentioned it is a virtual disk just make sure you have enough free space to handle what you are asking for in the VM. Don't worry about virt-manager, it is just an option. Boxes works great for most basic users and it is fairly easy to use.
