it installs your chosen Linux to the main drive, when you install at the partitioning phase most distributions will ask do you want to install XXX to the whole drive ..warning this will wipe your drive, do to wish to install alongside other operating systems or manually partition, just choose use complete disc, and let it do the workBy the way, what does the "install linux" do?
My air got a weird partition i never knew exist, and I'd like to wipe it out (as In removing the partition and hopefully reclaim the space?)it installs your chosen Linux to the main drive, when you install at the partitioning phase most distributions will ask do you want to install XXX to the whole drive ..warning this will wipe your drive, do to wish to install alongside other operating systems or manually partition, just choose use complete disc, and let it do the work
So when I "install linux" I might be just installing it on my main partition and keep the mac os in the weird partition?I would say that might be the OSX recovery partition.
If you ever want to reinstall OSX, then you should keep it.
However, you can nuke it and install Linux over the whole thing (I did this on my 2008 IMac)
The space can be reclaimed.
