Anyone like Neil Diamond...?

Neil has parkinsons disease....diagnosed in 2018, he has only now accepted the fact thay he has it.

There is no cure.

The album below is his latest, recorded with the London Symphony orchestra

He is now 82 years old.

Anyone like Neil Diamond...?

I am actually a bit of a fan.

He's likely too old but there's some brain surgery that can be done to lessen the symptoms, but not everyone is able to get the surgery for reasons I'm not sure of.

He sings a song about a lady friend and she has the same name as the lady I visited in Australia.

I'm not a huge baseball fan. I'm even less a fan of the Red Sox.

But, I've been to a bunch of Red Sox games (as it was the thing to do, and they were not a winning team which meant cheap tickets and I could take the subway there with drunken friends).

They sing Sweet Caroline during pretty much every game. It's a Red Sox thing. I forget why it started.

I think most folks mouth the words until it gets to the chorus.

Remember when the people with green,blue,orange...hair where fun?

I had some difficult administrative decisions to take and make, last 24 hours, and am exhausted.

I've just cracked open a beer and am catching up on here.

Let's have a little shouting therapy, courtesy of Tears For Fears.

I think I posted this a couple of years ago, but

I don't mind repeating myself

I don't mind repeating myself

I don't mind repeating myself

Judy Collins, then and now, she is 84 and released a new album last year but this is probably still my fave

I read about that earlier. I have some margarita mix handy and some very good tequila. The Margaritaville song is so well known, that I've been able to cover it (it's not especially difficult, after all) for decades and across audiences of all ages.

The song has some of my favorite lyrics of all times...

"Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
but I know it's my own d*mn fault."

Of course, I always get a kick out of "I blew out my flip flop. Stepped on a pop top. Cut my heel had to cruise on back home." It's lyrical genius in such a deceptively simple song. It describes a scene so vividly that there's no need for interpretation.

Edit to add:

For a LONG TIME my go-to drink was "margarita, no salt, cherries and not a lime".

One iv not heard in years.

This is the first in a series I will be posting - see if you can connect the dots. ;)
