I've been using linux for nearly 20 years now, both personally & professionally. I've always used a RedHat version and always installed software using rpm or tarballs. I see now that pretty much every distro as their "app stores." I've used them to install things without issues, until a few months ago.
A friend who I'd finally convinced to switch to linux decided to stick with Zorin and said I should check it out. Being the adventurous type I did. It seemed like any other system with some polished graphics. They pushed their app store for installing software so I did and it all seemed fine. That is until I installed the software for my crypto wallet. It installed, I started it up and linked my wallet to it and the next thing I knew my wallet was empty. I traced it to some other wallet in India.
Furious I got on Zorin's app store on their website and they had removed the wallet software. I guess it was left over from when the original ISO was created and never updated.
