Hey guys!..... :3 I just had a bunch of Coffee (hehe Mr. Penguin, COFFEE!..... ;))..... So anywho, I currently have (L)Ubuntu installed on my HP 15-bs212wm with an Intel Celeron CPU, and Intel Gemini Lake..... Now, everytime I try to search this issue(s) up, the Engine always returns results relating to Gemini Lake and NUC..... I don't have that. :\ So this must be the FIRST post about NON-NUC..... :3 Here's mah Hardware info via lscpi -vv:

I also sometimes have graphical glitches when using a Terminal emulator (ANY Terminal emulator)..... :( This seems to happen in any Desktop Environment, and only when most of the RAM is taken up, and perhaps the CPU (I.E., when using a FreeBSD or other VM, along with Chrome or Chromium)..... :) Any ideas, guys.....? :3 Also, Minecraft's debug info shows I'm using Gemini Lake with the MESA Driver..... :3 (The game shows that in capital letters)..... :3 Thank you SO MUCH for any help..... :3 Also, my leg muscle is twitching..... :< Hmm....... :\

Sorry Blackie, I can't help, I don't think.

But I also do not understand what the actual issue is.

Now, everytime I try to search this issue(s) up,

What is it actually that you are searching under (keywords)? Can you describe the graphics issues in a bit more detail?

Good luck

Chris

I'm afraid I don't have much help for you either. But this link and this link both indicate that Gemini Lake is a low-power, rather low-end, replacement for the Atom/Apollo Lake series CPU's.... so methinks that maybe you are expecting too much from this system, trying to run Minecraft, and approaching maximum RAM usage.:D

Cheers

Hello, Homer!..... :3 Well, if what you say is true, then it makes sense, I guess..... :3 This would explain that although it's got 4GB of RAM, and a Celeron, The Sims 4 runs slow with anything higher than medium quality Graphics settings..... :< This is under Windows 10 (which is even SLOWER on this Hardware now that you mention it..... :)) But in Linux things (obviously :D) run smoother..... :3 But I don't play The Sims under Linux, though I DO play Minecraft there..... :3 As for the issue, sometimes, under Linux, I'll see a blinking line at the top of the screen, where the taskbar is, when I'm using the LXDE Desktop..... :3 This also seems to happen with other Desktop Environments too, except perhaps Plasma 5..... :3 Things like the Terminal also start behaving weird, like letters and numbers and symbols disappearing, the background of said Terminals vanishing partly or entirely, etc...… :(
