Looking for a link in search to be able to have this system communicate with my Android phone so I can get images/movies off phone.

Only asking because I'm not the sharpest pencil in the pack.

Sorry I forgot all about this. Been super busy. I was hoping for a direct link.
Okay, I clicked on link and it said it was shut down in April.

You shouldn't need to install anything. All reasonable desktop environments have everything needed. Just connect the phone, make sure it's in file transfer mode (phone settings) and the computer should recognize and mount it as a drive. Use the GUI file manager to do the transfer, just like any other file from any other drive.

Well not having to install something was what I initially thought......several weeks ago. I was getting indication from people here that I indeed had to have software for this OS with Android. So, I plugged it and looked at though the settings on phone and found the "file transfer" setting. At first I was trying to open phone as it did register in "drives" folder. I kept clicking on it and nothing. Don't know WTH I did, but a folder popped up, clicked on it, and finally got access to pics and video on phone. I never saw the GUI thing. So anyway, I guess I got lucky and achieved what has been burning my brain for a long time. Thanks for your feedback. I'll keep you posted on my next headache.

The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is the file manager you were using. Everything is a GUI outside of the terminal, which is text-only for the most part.
