Hi everyone.

I'm trying to get an old SSD to be detected by my Fedora Linux installation. It is a Crucial M4 128GB sata drive which is producing a lot of errors and I fear it might be dead or dying.

I currently get these messages when I connect it.
Code:

Could somebody please interpret what this means as I don't really understand it other than it being error messages. My initial interpretation would be that this is a sata controller error on my drive.
I know for certain that my motherboard and cable are all working fine, since other drives connected to the same port aredetected properly

Thank You

Since a majority of it is ACPI related I would say it is a bios bug is there an update for the bios?

Try booting with the "acpi=off" kernel parameter This will disable ACPI support. If the error is the same with ACPI enabled and disabled, this may not be an ACPI issue.

In my experience i/o errors are often a sign of a failing disk or shortly to fail, but I don't if that is the same for ssd's although I would expect that any type of storage device to be able to get i/o errors.
