Just a quick update... I'm watching 'bowls' on CBC's "Gem".
I do not think it's piracy. While I'm not in the country, I'm a citizen of the country and pay taxes to the country. The CBC is not like the BBC. There's no TV 'tax' that needs to be paid. It's a service provided by tax dollars.
So, again, we do not support piracy at this site.
I did check some other sites. I even checked the TNT UK channels at one of those other sites. Alas, none of them were streaming the games at the time I checked. That could be because of the time of day.
So, I dug a bit deeper.
It looks to me like they're playing the opening on Sky Sport NZ at this moment in time. I mean, I couldn't be certain because I didn't watch for long -- but they were wailing away on the squeaky bags while wearing traditional Scottish gear, while some younger ladies appeared to be banging on some drums. The stream was a bit choppy until I dug a wee bit deeper.
However, that's dipping my toes into piracy. As the rules dictate, I'd never dream of sharing links in the public forum! Sure, nobody would come sue the site or anything, but it's bad form and not worth the tarnished reputation.
Also, we don't really play much 'bowls' here in the US. Once in a blue moon, you'll find someone who plays bocce. The two are related games, coming from the same game family. But it's very rare to find anyone who plays bocce these days.
There was often a set of lawn games that were sold that were, oddly enough, made in Maine. You had croquet, bocce, and horseshoes. They were made by a company called Forsters and were really popular in the era. Forsters barely exists today, but they were a Maine company. One of the things they made were popsical sticks. Today, there's one factory that is still in use -- but has a different name. They make plastic cutlery in the old Forsters' factory down in Wilton, Maine.
And, well, now you know...
Update: Australia is now playing 3-on-3 basketball vs. Scotland. So, now this is even more Australia-related.
