Post screenshots of the games you play on GNU/Linux

Which one is 0ad? I've read a comment here and there saying that it was really good.

It's not bad. You can read more about it here:

I don't play it regularly. I have never played it regularly. I have poked at it for a few hours at a time, multiple times.

If you played any of the games like Age of Empires, it's similar to that. You gather resources and grow your community so that you can try to take over the world.

pretty! what sort of game is it?
Adventure/action game. You are a samurai , mongols have taken over your island and you have to fight to win it back by doing all sorts of quests and side quests with different story lines. One of the best games I've played in the last few years, I've put almost 50 hours into it so far and I'm not done yet but getting close.

how about the Games menu?
Nice, I had some 25 games installed in Lutris because didn't know what to play so just looking at game cover art in Lutris made me pick one I felt is OK for today and hit play.

But since recent system reinstall now I have only 1 game, it's stellaris, space strategy.
Me (red territory) have only 1 ally (blue territory) all other neighbors are aggressive and too powerful for me, it's only a matter of time until one of them attacks me and then I'll have to resign and start over.

The colors used make it so that I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm partially colorblind and the colors in your picture just happen to be among those that I'm never certain about. (No, most colorblind people don't see everything as shades of gray. In fact, many people may not even know they're partially colorblind.)

I have issues with blues (and green) and reds (and oranges). It is tritanopia and protanomaly. I think I got that right. I can see colors.I just have trouble with parts of the visible spectrum of light. Those colors I have issues with often blend into a color close to it in the spectrum. Though, for an example, many shades of blue appear to be black to me.

I didn't know I was colorblind until a lady friend kept arguing with me when I said a color. People kept agreeing with her so I went and took the long version of the test. Estimates are that 40% of colorblind people don't get diagnosed. I assume they just argue with people a lot and never accept that they're wrong.

Another misconception is that you're born this way. Nope. It can develop as you age. I had no real issues growing up and earlier in life. I was even able to enlist twice. I did see the dark blue (as seen in the 'Dress Blues' coat) as black but I thought everyone did and that we just all agreed that it was blue. I now suspect it's a different color.

Anyhow, to get to my point...

In irony of ironies, the colors used in your picture mostly fall into the spectrum of 'buggered if I know what they really are'. They look purple, magenta, orange, black, and gray. I'm pretty sure I got gray and black correct.

I was not aware the percentage was so high! next time I visit the optometrist I think I'll have a test run. sort of curious now!

Thank you for sharing how you see colors, I never had opportunity from anyone tell me how it feels.

The colors are not pure red and blue like I described, you got all correct except orange and purple I guess which is actually light blue (north east territory with blue ship icons) and light red (territory in the center with green ship icons).

I was not aware the percentage was so high!

It's because of various misconceptions and various forms of colorblindness.

I got tested because people kept arguing with me. Being a rational person, I realized that I must be the problem. So, I went to get tested and to learn a bit more about my condition.

People tend to think that colorblindness is a total thing, that all they'll see are hues of gray. They might even realize that they don't quite see all the colors properly, but they can make do and it's never an issue for them. As it's not an issue, they never bother getting it checked.

It's not a crippling problem. Even if you're completely colorblind, you can still recognize the pattern of the lights at an intersection (for example). So, they just don't get diagnosed. They may self-diagnose, I suppose.

You can actually take a pretty solid colorblindness test online. I've found it for friends who were curious. I'll dig up a link...

This is just a quick test. The real test is much longer and much more difficult.

I took the test (just tell it to bugger off and show you the results) and my results are here:

As you can see, I'm not completely colorblind.

Also, the real test is much longer and the test has multiple types of tests within it.

DO NOT USE THE RESULTS AS ANYTHING CLINICAL!

It's just a website, not a doctor.

New playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, decided to go with a Cool - Body - Tech build; I had never messed with Photo Mode before, so I thought I would give it a try, and I have to say I am a big fan!

Until yesterday - "Everspace 2". But this impossible mission crawled on my nerves too many times, so the game went back where it came from - the trash can.

I decided to go for a different build in Cyberpunk 2077, Cool - Reflex - Tech, I got really lucky with a certain vendor in Watson and got some clothing pieces I really like.

Decided to go wild with graphics enhancements and character customization mods on Cyberpunk 2077, went for a human-based V this time around too!

I thought I would also share a little useful tip, if anyone is playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a RX 6000 series and up AMD card, the Radeon Raytracing Refined configuration file from Nexus may be worth checking out, Ray-Tracing on Ultra now gets around the same Average FPS as I used to get on Medium before adding in the config, of course mileage may vary depending on your hardware though. :D

I remember Nethack finally got an update in 2015. It hadn't been updated for more than a decade prior and almost everyone had assumed the project was dead. It was quite a popular thread on Slashdot at the time.

Nethack has already reached version 3.6.7, which was released two years ago. I don't think it's been completely abandoned, but its popularity has definitely declined a lot. I'm currently looking for similar games, but I haven't found any yet.

They appear to still be active on their repo, so more updates may be made to the project. It's a very old game.
