Frequent Screen Freezing

I'll definitely keep that in mind if the "slorp" returns- yet as of now, it seems like the issue I spoke about in the beginning of the post is cured.

Should I enable GPU recovery if the problem comes back, or just do it right now?

I would set it because it may resolve the remaining problem with crash.

Here's how:
Bash:
echo "amdgpu.gpu_recovery=1" | sudo tee /etc/sysctl.d/amdgpu.gpu_recovery.conf > /dev/null

Then reboot or apply.
Note that each parameter when set has to have its own config file otherwise the command above will overwrite previous configs.

If you want to test other parameters, test one by one.

Alright, I'll do that.

I can't keep testing Halo 3 so quickly because I actually get banned for a period of time after every crash.

Just as an update: I enabled GPU recovery which I forgot to do before.

I still haven't had a full freeze of the display since I did the first thing, but I imagine that thanks to GPU recovery, if it ever happens again, I just wait for fifteen seconds and then I have my computer back?

IDK where you got 15 seconds from but here is what the parameter does:
if you set the kernel driver parameter amdgpu.gpu_recovery=1, then whenever there is a GPU timeout detected, it will automatically attempt to reset the GPU and bring it back up.
