Yes I know...been using it for years but not easy for a Linux beginner who's never used it. As you say it's powerful and I would never tell a beginner to use it but that's me.
There are a few Ubuntu based Distros that don't have USB tools or have only have a USB writer that you have to install.
You see I'm very spoilt because Linux Mint has a USB Writer and a USB Formatter and you can even install Etcher and they all work. In over 10 years of using Mint I've never used the Disk Utility to format a Flash Drive or an External HDD/SSD.
