Unable to install Linux

yes

click it again....you will not do any harm

ok......that's good...separate pc

You can always cancel the install and start it again

The OP may not have got the screen at #18 if he had already wiped Windows.

If that is so, the screenshot he has shown has, at the bottom,

device for bootloader installation /dev/sda, and Install is enabled.

He could click install and see what happens.

going to try that.

Install now results in a "no root file system is defined". "+" and "change..." results in the installer crashing. "-" results in me able to continue.

If this were me......I would hit cancel and start again at double click on 'Install Linux Mint"

and i clicked "-" at the installation type window and i get the no root error followed by one which allows me to continue.

Restart the Installer from the beginning, and at the Installation Type window, choose the top option

"Erase disk and install Linux Mint"

Or have you already tried that option?

i aborted installation. now it says the installation finished but loading. I did not get that option.
