When I press the spanish accent (´), instead of just not appearing visually (as it happens in windows, for example), a preview appears, which bothers me when I do a typing speed test because it marks it as an error (as if I typed something wrong).
Typing the word "aún" would look like this:

a
(now it marks it as an error)

aún

How can I change this so the accent doesn't appear on screen? I'm using Fedora 35 with Cinnamon. (updated from Fedora 34 with xfce4 install)

How can I change this so the tilde doesn't appear on screen?

Edit: I could change it by running im-chooser and choosing "Use X composer table".

Hmm... I do not have an answer, but I may have a workaround...

Depending on your needs, you could switch to (and then learn) the English (Intl. with AltGr Dead Keys). With that, you just press ALT and U to get ú. It may not have all the characters you're after, but it has quite a few. It might be worth looking into.
