have you seen his video? he used time command, 'time firefox', he didn't run any custom script with 'sleep 2'You can do this with probably any of the apps pinned to your panel......I chose Librewolf, Thunderbird and Firefox, because that is what I use.
I run Linux mint cinnamon 22.1
Right click on the firefox icon on your panel; and select edit. Then copy the command there (firefox %u)
Then open Startup Applications from the menu
click on the + sign down the bottom, and then Custom Command
Give it a name (Firefox or whatever...)
Paste the copied command in the 'command' box
You can delay the startup if you wish....I delay them by 2, 3 & 4 seconds
Be sure to click on ADD at the bottom
Reboot the pc
Voila....Firefox ! etc
I also do this with Thunderbird & Librewolf
