Since the last post on the above thread I have come to the understanding that Mobile Device Processor manufacturers have built processors solely for Android and Nothing else. So installing Linux on these devices have ultra slim chances of success. The reason they have done this is anyone's guess.
My opinion of this - I got taught that If you can't say something nice or without excessive use of Profanity, don't say it...
In continuation of this, I have realised that Tablets and Mobile Devices which operate any kind of Windows will allow for Linux to be installed, including tablets with RK3588 processors. And what is good is the pricing, which is much less than I expected.
Have a look on Sourcing sites such as Alibaba, Tradekey, Global Sources, etc..
So for anyone that has struggled with creating a Linux Tablet, have a look at one that has Windows on it. Hopefully you will have more traction and reliability compared to Android only.
In the previous thread, There were recommendations involving Ubuntu Touch and Postmarket OS. Is there a Touchscreen equivalent to a Desktop environment which can be fully customised where you can create widgets, integrate to IoT Platforms, etc.? Similar to Gentoo, but less difficult.
I am hoping that this thread can help everyone that is wanting to use Linux on Mobile devices, whether it is for General purpose, wanting to walk away from Android, creating IoT based technologies, etc..
There's talks of Android becoming a pain in the neck in the future, but whether that is true or not, is anyone's guess. Irrespective, I would like to contribute to bringing this topic up to allow anyone to create and have Linux devices with minimal hassle and increased reliability - where it can be a daily drive.
