Good morning, everybody! I had another thread going wherein I mentioned that I had to install a new os in order to attack an issue I am having. @KGIII suggested that I start a new thread for the issue of the new os running vwry slowly. This is the command he suggested that I use, and the results. My apologies for not being able to post the output in code format, since there seems to be no way to copy the code from the puter to the phone and then copy and paste it into this post. The screenshot covers most of the ouput, although the last few lines would have taken another screenshot, which might be confusimg and hard to follow, bit this should provide the basics necessary to start troubleshooting this. Thanks!
Code:
inxi -v 5

I would suggest that zorin is not the right distro for that machine you only have and i3 (dual core processor) and 4 gbs ram. That is not going to run a gnome Desktop that zorin uses. Gnome is one of the heaviest DE on resources Linux has. you would be much better off running a distro with xfce or lxqt or similar. Lubuntu may work. antx, even mx with xfce. There are others.

awesome! I will finish copying all of those "missing" files that caused me to need to get a different os onto another hard drive and then work on downgrading to something more appropriate to my machine. I chose Zorin because (a) I had good experience with it on a better machine a few years ago, and (b) the installation instructions seemed easier to follow than some of the others I looked at. Are there any distros or programs that in your opinion would be better for video and audio editing?
Thanks again!

With that machine and the amount of ram you will have a hard time doing any video editing. but audio should be possible.
So can't really advise you on that too well. Others here could most likely give you better advise on that.

darn. Guess I will just have to muddle along as best I can once I get another distro installed. Thank you!

There's also ZorinOS Lite.
Otherwise I would give Linux Mint with Cinnamon a try and if you don't like that try one of these(ZorinOS Lite is listed there too).
