New debían Linux - how do I get command line out of one line glyph so that I can program multiple lines of code before hitting return
Welcome.
If you can describe the issue with more detail, readers may be in a better position to help.
Are you working in a terminal and wanting to write multiple lines of code?
Usually one would write the code in a text editor which one can open from a terminal in either a non-GUI or GUI environment. (GUI = graphical user interface). Examples of common text editors in debian are nano, vim, notepadqq. There are others.
Perhaps identify which terminal you are using, and which text editor, if any is being used.
The term "glyph" refers to the typographical feature which is the actual shape of a font character, rather than what is normally considered a character itself as it appears on the command line or in a text editor.
Did you you mean to say "character" such as the letter that appears on the command line when one presses a letter key such as: a or b or c or 1 or 2?
In relation to the idea of removing a file from the kernel, it is probably neither a solution to the sort of issue hinted at here, nor something that an ordinary user would be wanting to do, unless one is coding at the level of the kernel.
More information will help I think.
