Do I lose edgelord status if moving from arch to debian?

I think you owe @Mike-BTU an apology, my son.
He already did, as I said something about it earlier.
If this was the case I apologize to @Mike-BTU. It was just there had been such discussion of arrogant Arch users so I thought that was the case here so see I may have misread the situation.

@f33dm3bits :-

Heh. I, too, was "skimming", and must have missed the apology (such as it was). I don't like such behaviour, anywhere, for whatever reason, at any time.....so I gave the advice I did.

Having a go at other members within 48hrs of joining is NOT a great start for the OP.

Where does this whole "edgelord" thing with Linux come from? They are just tools. But every time I think of edgelord I think of something that has a danger element. The only Distros I can think of that have the power of edgelordery is Kali because you can actually mess with someone and Tails is a giant middle finger to survilance capitalism but both those systems are not something you would use every day.

Every time I hear the word edgelord all I can think of is two big muscular guys with huge loud speakers and electric guitars blairing "EDGELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRD" (insert drum solo here)

@friend-of-linus , I note from your deleted post at #60 that you may have found a solution that in essence was suggested in #54.

If that is so, or when it is so, you can mark it as solved by going to your first post, and do as follows

Near bottom left of the post click Edit - (No Prefix) - Solved

It's not an insult i really like to use very much: i think in the end it just means someone who's always kind of irritable and brags about the things they do in a condescending way. Sometimes edgelords are sarcastic, sometimes not, sometimes macho, sometimes not...but i believe the common thread is the bragging and belittling. Some people throw the insult around pretty freely, just as a way to lash out against people who they disagree with. I have found that there are mutliple definitions of edgelord online, so not a very useful thing to talk about. "The Edgelord" is whoever you make them out to be.

"Edgelord" fits some of the impressions i get of "the arch elite" but i wouldn't say that about arch users in general because it does have functionality beyond raw narcissism. Clearly OP was enjoying the ride for a little while and is now re-considering...It is a route for extreme DIY computing short of coding and compiling the operating system yourself. Funny thing is that before Ubuntu came around, compiling linux distros was a requirement, i believe...make files make it fairly easy, even though you would have to have more knowledge to fix the compile errors of how software works without getting confused.

Makes sense. Yes every time I think of "edgelord" its people that are rude. Edgelords are the reason I stopped posting on facebook and Reddit. Now I post on specialized sites only, takes longer but it cuts out so much crap and it beats coming home to find an A4 sized comment section of trolling over nothing!
