  • When I moved back to Arch after using Ubuntu, the first thing I realized is how FAST pacman is compared to APT. Like seriously, it is probably one of the most optimized pieces of software I have ever seen. I don't even know how is APT so slow / how is pacman so fast, but pacman is just plainly superior and it doesn't break the system sometimes like APT.
    Wait, Linux can't do this?

It can't shrink its root partition while online? WHAT? It can hot swap a kernel, but can't resize its root partition when online, something I don't even have to think about on Windows?

I forcefully did it using parted, and then I was going to resize the file system to actually reflect the changes, but it just couldn't because the system was online, and then after a reboot I just broke it.

You need to boot into live USB and resize from there.

That is something I definitely did not expect from GNU/Linux. That indeed is quite disappointing.

windows does not have a root partition. It is commonly called C:/

Which should tell you that Linux is more idiot proof than its 'competition' ....
