Need New Motherboard/CPU For Audio Production

Yesterday, my 10+ y/o computer died. I was trying to update the BIOS (It had not been updated since purchase. Before trying, I read and read and read. And worked step by step and reread the step before applying. It BRICKED. Since I was going to upgrade in the fall, it looks like I am doing it sooner.

My question is: What motherboard and CPU do you all recommend for audio production? I prefer AMD CPUs. I don't like to use Intel unless there is no choice.

Did you try removing the CMOS backup battery, to clear and reset the BIOS/UEFI data?

Sorry about that, few of us here frequently warn against updating BIOS exactly because of this possibility.
You learned it the hard & expensive way.
