MX23 boot options glitch

Forum Functionality Question
For my familiarity and greater ease of use, I exported the rough of my next post to abiword for some quick edits. Returned to the forum, tried "delete > paste" and each varied attempt brings the re-appearance of the original, even after selecting 'post', then selecting 'delete' from there. I'd expect it's no problem importing content into a fresh field, and while I appreciate the need to have "save as we go" for the sometimes laborious and lengthly compositions required in this forum, what must I do to import this now.? Thanks, M

Please Disregard my Previous Post!
Seems the problem is on my end, sorry, M.
No Problem! Somedays tech is alright, other days it just wants to take a hike.
It's alright.

Forum Functionality Question

The system saves a draft. The vertical three-dot menu that is over towards the right of the screen is where you'll want to look for that information.

Yes. I've taken the time explore the options and gizmos directly after posting that. As I mentioned, the problem was on my end. Thank you, KGIII.

Thank you all! Wiz, this place is great! Here there be Dragons, true, but also Wizards. It is good. Coincidental, true words. Rocketing, Rocket League sounds like great fun. My Dad and I used to build and fire off model rockets back in the day. Slot cars too. -Another gem from Ed Woods, “The Lobster Man from Mars” is, I think, a must-see for you as it is right on your “line of trajectory”. AlexZee, thank you, I will copy and use the ‘cheats’ and watch for your articles.
I've used nano only a few times, in the past, with a mixture of trepidation and lucky success. I've begun to school myself on the topic now, and I see that 'Visual Studio Code' is rated highly for use by beginners as well as for it's advanced features. Looking forward to it, but for now first comes first.
I`m now running on puppy. I also have a usb drive booting LMDE 6 copied from an old dvd by Pudd. (Thanks, loyal pup.) Didn't know if it would boot, but delighted when it did. Still am. And WITHOUT the (IMHO) dreaded ISO 9660 I have come to (rightly or wrongly) loathe, despise, and hate.
Maybe it does exist somewhere, perhaps a Wizard might know; a formula to remove the dreaded thing without harm to the patient, and without the need for an Epic quest involving dd, gparted, fsck and e2fsck, disks, and more! All while possibly (likely?) causing more damage to the already afflicted silicon. I've come to understand that writing over corrupted territory can cause additional, even permanent damage. And it may be too late for some of my gear. A bit of mine seems to show damage despite continuing to work so far, and while generating the Gparted error message: 'the backup gpt table is corrupt, but the primary appears okay, so that will be used'. One previously good microSD card is now invisible to all devices. One usb drive, one ssd drive, and one hdd drive now boot only to the grub boot page that reads: “GNU GRUB version 2.12-9+deb13u2 Minimal Bash-like editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions.
Anywhere else. TAB lists possible device or file completions. To enable less (1)-like paging."Set pager=1"
grub>_”
So my priorities now are,if possible, to restore one or both HDs to working condition, ready for fresh install(s). If one or more possible shortcut fixes may be possible in the “BASH-like line editing”, I’m game to give that a try as well.
While the stick that boots to the grub page already contains an installer, if needs must I'm willing to free up another one after I'm confident it can be cleansed of the 9660 afterward so it can return to its regular work.

A spokesman for Sandisk has said that their flash drives will sometimes lock themselves as they begin to fail in order to preserve data access. I have one of theirs. A 64gb microSD that went locky on me sometime over the past few weeks. A young drive, never 9660'd, and it had always worked flawlessly before. Just up and locked...Can a bad usb port damage a drive? I imagine one could look up the pinouts, and then check to see that the voltage is strictly where and what it should be. The site pinouts.ru is good for that.

Posts abound questioning how and if a usb stick can have another life after 9660. For all I know, the damage might be solely from our under /or ill-informed attempts to clear the drive for another use. It seems to me that the beast sinks its claws deep into it’s intended prey, and fights strongly against attempts to remove it from it’s host.

Narrated in a Rod Serling voice: Consider, if you will, that neither the purveyors and distrubutors of computer operating systems and related software, nor the manufacturers of various data storage hardware, have ever made any efforts to educate members of the computing public in regards to any ‘Best Practices’ for the safe removal of the ISO 9660 format when it becomes desirable for the end user to do so.* Consider, also, the effects of such a widespread lack of understanding among the buyers and users of such digital storage devices; and as well, on the lifespans, turnover, and sales of said devices.
Case in point: “The Lightbulb Conspiracy”. A tale, that, while entertaining and humorous, sheds light on a dark topic. A story of one man’s struggle to make his inkjet printer print again. A birthday celebration in a small rural American town’s fire station where a lightbulb has been burning continuously for 100 years. And a look at modern manufacturing processes and priorities.

Fresh Installs Booting Only to Grub Page
verbose <off> Note: Wasn't sure until just now my previous post went out okay, wrote this as a second attempt. I'll post it anyway because it's more concise and contains slightly different info that may be helpful.

So here is the short and sour if it. Two HDs and one flash drive, all recently in ok condition, are no longer so. Installers verified, drives properly partitioned according to each OS. Both installs working and then as above, after 3 0r 5 boots and being swapped around a bit between 2 older but known good machines, an hp laptop and a levono laptop; along with the usual updates, downloads, and preferred program installations. I also ran the installer on its own a few times, and it also now boots only to the same grub page: "GNU GRUB version 2.12-9+deb13u2 Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions. To enable less (1)-like paging, "Set-pager=1" grub>."
I think that my repeated cycles of installation and crude and incorrect removal attempts have caused problems in these and other drives. A 32gb microSD card that recently went into "invisible mode" was last seen giving the libparted error, "end of file while reading /dev/sda" (mmcblk0). Another now common error is "The backup partition table is corrupt. The primary table appears okay, so that will be used".
And your post reminds me of Plan 9 from Bell Labs OS. :)

By the way, welcome to the forums morella.

So the question is, firstly, IS there a 'best practices' method for safely and completely removing 9660? And secondly, what can be done to revive the HDs, and then the installation usb stick? If anything can be done from the grub screen, given instructions, I'll try that first. Otherwise, any fixes that erase the contents are fine.
My bootable OS options are at the moment down to my puppy and an old LMDE 6 installer on usb. I've noticed that Of course I'll use the LMDE to enter commands in terminal, the stock puppy install I run has a lesser command vocabulary.
