0ecb5f41a4c6e87744caa9397687d71d.gif

so forced to try gopher protocol so i install lynx browser and type in the terminal

lynx gopher://gopher.floodgap.com

and explored it and the experience its look like you visit indie website

not to expect you will find linus T will learn you how to become the greatest developer in the world or something like this

but yeah its look like indie websites who is made as a hobby, not serious project (i know its abandoned protocol, not newer like gemini)

its fun in the last, but not to explore all the servers hosted in gopher btw

but about gemini (not the AI) i cant say its made as a hobby or for fun, its look like huge and i cant underrated it

so any advice to explore gemini tomorrow :)

Gopher is fun. There are even some old BBS servers out there, along with some that still allow telnet.

You can also use a text-based browser in the terminal.

Regarding BBSes, there is a site called TelnetBBSGuide with extensive listings and there's a cross-platform Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) program called SyncTerm which can be used to connect to them via Telnet or SSH. YouTube has plenty of videos about SyncTerm and how to connect to BBSes. There are other programs as well.

Edit: Regarding "Gemini" (not to be confused with Google's "Gemini") I think it's quite interesting as an option but not something I'd use heavily. One of the official(?) sites has a web portal you can use to access pages.
