I have windows fx 10 the lastest version installed and I had ms windows 10 before. When windows 10 started getting bad updates messing the os up I finally got out of insider program and decided to go to linux fulltime. I have tried many other linux distros and I always had problems. If a linux distro can break I can break it. Most linux os have a outdated look to them and are hard for me to move around where I need to go. Depending on what I want to do. Never liked the personal settings for appearance. Always hated the appearance option in linux it always had a outdated look no matter what style I picked. But I tried the windows fx 10 and have been using it for 3 months now. Have no problems with it. Works like a charm. Never crashes never breaks and is so easy to move around in. Yes it looks like windows which has the best modern look and feel. But we all know Windows 10 and especially windows 11 is crap. Under the hood Microsoft is slowly destroying the os. Bugs are always there waiting to crash the os driving us nuts. Linux will always be a better alternative os. For first time beginners windows fx 10 will make the crossover to linux a whole lot easier. The ui is exactly what I am use to seeing. Finding a setting is easy. I have the kde plasma version some say why make linux look like windows well it is not just to look like it but to move around in it the same as windows did for comfort. The best layout ui can be the most useful easy comfortable to use. Why not. Check to latest version the installer is fine if you want only one system. It still overs to install beside other system which I don,t usually do because it can back fire occasionally even Microsoft backfires when installing another os next to it.

Considering that that is your only post, that it's dredging up an old thread, and that that version of Linux is a potentially paid product ($25 for a 'professional activation key'), I'm inclined to think your post may well be an attempt to advertise here on Linux.org.

Please, change my mind.

Hi I am not advertising dear just a old lady who has for years always had problem with linux. I cant code cant write scripts just found the windows fx is easy to use for someone who cant program like me. There are a lot of people like me that have to rely on distro programmers to make a os that requires little involvement to use out of box. Yes it is true the pro costs but don,t like the cinnamon version much which is free the pro version was easier for me. If that makes you feel like you do sorry about that. I just saying how much I like it. I have no intentions of advertising. If I have a problem down the road with my system I will hope there are people who can help me if needed. Thank you for your reply hope this help you understand where I am. Have a great day.

I am not advertising

I'll accept that. Some sort of bot wouldn't have known to reply. Good luck with your computational goals.

We've got a pretty good group of volunteers who are willing and able to assist with all sorts of problems. We've had threads last for months until the problem was truly resolved, and have solved complete mysteries.

None of us knows everything, but the group of us knows quite a bit.

@norma66 If you are struggling, post your struggles in the relevent sub in a new thread. If you want to talk about how good/bad X distro is, start a new thread in the relevant sub or join an active thread on the subject. You should introduce yourself, too, as this sort of legitimises you (I only did my intro days later, so I'm one to talk). Finally, if you want a modern look, go check out r/unixporn, there are great customisations there and gnome-look or xfce-look if you have a lot of time and patience. Otherwise, the one-click solution would be Gnome 3 et al.

@KGIII You're always being awfully lenient. I do think a thread lock may be in order.

Yup. We're pretty lax here. I'm pretty sure they don't have any immediate questions and were just trying to make conversation. And, I'd not have to lock it if people would stop responding! :D
