Hello and welcome! This is the friendliest bunch of people you'll ever come across!
Not sure what it's like in the Fort Worth area, but in the Pittsburgh, PA area (a hotbed of geekery) the number of active face-to-face LUGs I've been able find is exactly zero. There's one out near Philly - about three hundred miles from here.
Let us know if you find one near you, but don't be too surprised if linux.org is as good as you get. You could do a lot worse than this bunch, even if you never see a single member face-to-face.
If you can't find any LUGs, I know that amateur radio operators are often Linux users. You could likely attend a club meeting, and ask your questions there.
But this website is as good as it gets, as @MikeRocor pointed out above.
I decided to use Google to find one. Here you go! The Fort Worth Linux Users Group! It looks to be active, too.

This thread here is a couple of years old, but maybe there's something there that's useful.
Next, I asked gemini.google.com. My question was "I need a list of active Linux User Groups in the Fort Worth Texas area." Here is the answer. It lists the one above plus others, one that may be of Interest in Dallas.

For some site history...
For a while, we had the ambitious goal of providing an index of LUGs around the world. The boss man even paid for custom software to be written. Even with some encouragement, very few people listed their LUGs.
So, we no longer have that link at the top to find a local LUG. It just never got any real traction.
I sent e-mails to around a dozen listed as being in the UK, to get them to register, NOT ONE replied, there are quite a few Facebook Linux groups
Yeah, I did something similar. It didn't help much. There was one taker but they passed away. The next people to get involved int hat LUG did not do anything to maintain the listing.
