Over the past 2 weeks I've tried a few different Ubuntu based Distros (10) in Virtualbox.

I've tried most of these before but this time I was looking for those who had a USB Writer and a USB Formatter built in by default...and sadly only one did. I did think that simple tools such as a USB Writer and Formatter were basic tools but how wrong was I.

Naturally Linux Mint has both by default which is great...anyway one of the Distros I tried was Feren which is very similar to Mint except it doesn't have USB tools or the Disk Utility either.

I installed Etcher and USBImager...both install and work but only burn an ISO to a Flash Drive but not format. This is where Mintstick comes in...because it does both. :)

Feren is very easy and takes about 5 minutes to get used to. I have it running on my spare SSD and posting from it now but I won't be switching from Mint.
Here's the Desktop...I changed the background.

In the repository, look for KED ISO writer or install from flatpack, for formatting use Discs its in most distributions

I did see that later..but you'd think it would be installed by default.

What I did find strange...plug in a Flash Drive it doesn't auto-mount...you have to click the arrow bottom right...then click USB icon then select mount and open.

I did think of Ventoy to drag in ISOs but what happens if I decided to format my Ventoy Flash Drive because Feren doesn't have a formatting tool...why is life so hard.
