  • A couple days with Bazzite. I'm impressed how well it performs. But I don't like how the terminal is restricted. Too early to render judgement in general.

Glad to hear you got your gaming rig together. I recall you saying how high priced the hardware was.
    Visual rendering bench marking?
To run it in the terminal you'll need Distrobox or Steam (via Proton) Google said. Not sure if that helps.

Nah I don't benchmark. At least not yet. Still haven't gotten around to getting expo to run with 4 stick of DDR5. But in general, I bought all the parts at the very last possible moment before memory prices REALLY started rising. Now my PC is one of the fastest appreciating assets I own!
Yesterday I had my first kernel panic... ever... since I joined Linux. That is like, years. A testament to Debian's reliability. A bad update made the system unstable.
I've been banging my head against the wall with those RAM settings. Turns out the presets are just wrong. No chance in hell does it boot on those default EXPO settings.

Regardless, two of the four RAM sticks are shot, probably out of the factory. Gonna send them back for replacements, then see what I can do with manually tuning in the RAM settings. Right now I've got 5600MHz memory running in single channel 3600. (Facepalm)
    Good news everyone!

My new Linux gaming PC is up and running. There was too much frantic activity to post continuous updates on my forum post; it would have spammed it out.

    Expect a final update shorty!
Well, a bit late, but I'm about to order the parts from Germany. A new high end Linux gaming rig is slowly becoming a reality.

Ironically, the germans have a shortage of EXPO memory where my locals don't lol!
I will be building a 9800X3D top of the line AMD gaming system to play... Stardew Valley (among other games, on Linux of course). LoL!

They used to make this joke in regards to minecraft, but now you need a pretty beefy rig to get 144fps on max settings from it!

Do post pics of your build bro....when you can.
So I was about ready to hit the purchase button on them' PC I was talking about in the forums... but then the RTX 5080S got announced. I'm gonna give Nvidia the benefit of a doubt, but if I get even the slightest "ick" about it, I'll be going with my old plan.

I think it's gonna be shit, but I'm no hurry.
My cousin got fired at the keyboard factory. She said it was because she wasn't putting in enough shifts.
I busted my right eye. Funny thing is, to treat it, the doctor prescribed me the same medicine that is used to treat the plague and cholera.

Actually, what I got was Chloramphenicol in the form of an ointment that I have shove under my eyelid 5 times a day. If I can manage to do that, it works really great, it immediately relieves any itching and pain.

The reason I posted it is because I find it funny, that, you know, I have shove plague medication into my eyeball!
Other than that, it's nothing to worry about, just a little bit of corneal erosion.
You know that the realities of life hit you when instead of buying the next big SUPER ULTRA GAMING WAAAAH 99.000 keyboard, you just buy a clonker that is easy to clean.
90% of all people that ever lived have suffered from diarrhea at least once in their lives... does that mean the remaining 10% enjoyed it?!?

I have had Diarrhoea but not suffered from it, only the aftermath of acid burn [or as Johnny cash called it The ring of fire]
Got a lovely call from Microsoft's tech support today. They said that there's a virus on my pc. They said they can fix it.

I installed team viewer and let them connect. THE INDIAN SCAMMER NINCOMPOOP WAS STARING AT MY SCREEN, CLICKING AROUND RANDOM THINGS, TOTALLY CONFUSED.

I asked "I know it looks bad, even my start menu is gone (I use gnome), can you fix it?

The call ended with an Indian insult as he hung up.
Writing a horror screenplay. It starts off with a ringing phone. The person answers, and it's their mum saying "I have a computer question."
