It's why our own Admin, Erik (rockedge on the Puppy Forums) went out of his way to "rescue" the old Murga-linux Puppy forum after its founder, John Murga, passed away in early to mid 2020..

Very cool.. glad to see that he was able to keep it going!

There were people, I believe, that thought I started the site, which I did not. I just wanted to post up the history of it and give Michael credit since he started it all, and wrote some amazing articles.

Good on you, mate! I believe in giving credit where it is due.

i didnt know much about linux.org, i am glad it is in good hands now

i have been active at LQ and Arch linux forums.

this forum has a bit more relaxed atmosphere compared to LQ and Arch forums.

Hoo-boy. Tell me about it.

I'm not knocking the LQ crew unnecessarily, but God! they are a right bunch of stuffed shirts. And the "old" gang, those who have been there from the beginning, back in the late 90s, all tend to act as if it's their personal stamping ground.

How the hell they let TBone get away with "picking" on people & then go out of his way to pick holes in everything they post and belittle them at every opportunity, I do NOT know...

The guy treats it like a 'sport'. Hah!

I'm amazed Jeremy doesn't say anything. And as for jefro, funny how he always conveniently 'disappears' whenever TBone's getting "stuck into" some poor beggar. I don't like to see anyone being treated like that.

Mind you, some of the oldest members hail from the very early days of Linux.....when, if you wanted people to take you seriously, you looked to build and compile your entire system from scratch, without any assistance. And then for the cherry on top, you were expected to build, set-up and maintain your own website, too.....back in the days when none of these site-builder websites existed.

I gave up on the place some while back. Didn't like the atmosphere. Some of 'em ARE genuinely helpful....but many are not.

Linux.org is totally different. They're a good bunch here.

Horses for courses (of course)! Just my opinion, FWIW.
