I'm trying to install Modicia O.S. (Debian based) in Virtual Box on my LM 21.1 desktop.
The sha signature was a match.:)

I've tried tapping the Shift key no dice. After pressing the ESC key to get to the bootloader menu, I get a boot prompt for a few seconds and then a black screen of kernel panic not syn and no working init found.

Any ideas friends how I can get to Grub so I can edit the default kernel and add something like init=/bin/bash or init=/bin/sh.

Any help is greatly appreciated:-

I'll see if i can spin it up on my surface if i can get Vbox reinstalled. Will hopefully report back later but probably not for a little while.

I do have to say though, On my VMS on the Mac, Sometimes certain ram configs and otherwise can cause a VM to just crash off. If you can post any screenshots of how it is configured, I'll see what I can do.

How much virtual memory have you allocated in VBox? Increase it?
Virtual memory was 2048. I increased it to 2 GB and the VHD is 8 gig's.
After changing the virtual memory it booted right up. Thanks @GatorsFan!:)

Modica comes with all kinds of tools and apps for Musicians, Engineers and Graphic Artist's.
After a backup I plan to install it to my M2 drive over the next few days.

Ouch. Plans foiled. VBox does not support the surface-kernel well for some reason. I'll see what I can do on something else.. Eh i'll hopefully at least make sure it does not have a VM-Bug! Sorry about that.

It's ok friend.
It now boots to desktop in VBox and works. Thanks for your time and attention.

Once I have Modica installed I'll share it here. I just need a few days for the back up.

The full installation to my Samsung Evo M drive was successful!

I've never seen any Linux distro like this before.

Nice!

When the contractors are done tearing my flat apart I plan to do a complete write up on this Modicia O.S.

It's got more apps than I've ever seen and so many good programs and other essentials that engineers, musician and visual/digital artist's can use to create amazing art work!

To install this distro you have to hold down CTRL and the space bar to get to the installer.
Once installed you have to reboot twice. Otherwise all the applications won't install and work.
