Say Hello to Goodbye Mails: Temporary Disposable Email Accounts for Creating Accounts

Another option for home or small business users is to rent a cheap shared hosting account. Unlimited email addresses to send and receive plus a website and storage space.
That's what I do. Started back in the day when you could get a "virtual domain" for free if you allowed banner ads at the top of every page of your web site. When that business model (deservedly) failed, I converted to a paid hosting account at a (slightly) discounted price and bought a much nicer domain name. There's even a "catchall" email address so I can just sign up for stuff using an email address like [email protected] without even having to make up the address ahead of time.

I use Proton aliases regularly. Websites get hacked regularly. I do not use my real email address on any websites. Proton allows creating unlimited aliases on the fly, and that's one if its strongest attractions. The aliases forward to my primary email address, but when a website gets hacked and the address starts getting phishing and spam, I can just disable it. It's not if a site gets hacked, it's when. If those aliases get banned at a site, I will no longer visit that site. So far my alias for this site has worked.
