Solved A Question About Response With Scrolling/Hesitation of Web Pages and Programs

I'm on Cinnamon 22.1

Used to have 21.1. When navigating web pages or general things not internet related, I get this hesitation and jumpy reaction when I click on something.
This did not happen when I had 21.1
Navigating things were smoother and fluid.
I'm wondering with having this thing reformatted with 22.1, am I experiencing a memory issue?
Even when writing this, there is a slight delay of text appearing.
I'm just thinking off the top of my head here, but could this a compatibility issue of some kind?
Even scrolling web pages on You Tube, it hesitates a little and does not scroll smoothly.
Any idea what this might be?
This can be a little annoying if you want my honest opinion..

I've seen issues as you describe caused by hardware acceleration being enabled in the browser.

I'm not familiar with this. I know what the CPU is, but never heard of RAM Utilization.
Are you suggesting I can make an adjustment of some kind?

In an older machine here, a shift of the mouse to another usb socket was sufficient to resolve the issue.

Okay. I think part of the problem is solved. I switched the USB plug to another open socket and it seems to be functioning a bit more smoothly. But I am still getting this hesitation from scrolling though these pages or when I enter text. I will post a question in another thread. Thanks.

If it's any help, in the firefox browser there is a setting for smooth scrolling which may be of interest. It's under: Settings -> General -> Browsing -> Use smooth scrolling

With 22.1 I they added Wayland as an experimental option, try using a Wayland session when you login. Click on the Cinnamon icon next to your name and then select "Cinnamon on Wayland" and then login. See if that makes a difference to you?

In the terminal, run top or install htop and run that. That will show you CPU and RAM utilization.

I'm not really making any suggestions, other than checking those two things. If those checks indicate a problem, a high load when no high load is expected, then you can mention those and ask for suggestions.

If you sit there and watch it for a while, perhaps while doing other things, that may also help. As it will show running processes, it may even indicate that you have something running that's causing the problems you're experiencing.

Okay, this is another one of those previous messages before I got cut off from my email last year.
Things have been running fairly smoothly, and there has not been any hesitation. It's been so long since I posted this question, I have no idea what it is that caused the problem. So as they say in court, "case dismissed".
