I want to say this first to the people who actually understand what the problems have been. Thank you so much for your help and for taking me seriously. You know who you are.
I have to wonder how different this might all be if I hadn't mentioned the one word that nearly everyone seems to focus on. 'Privacy'. It's not worth my time to once again reiterate all the other reasons. It would fall on deaf ears. If privacy
was my only concern, it would not justify what's been going on.
With a few exceptions, I don't think anyone realizes why I use Zoom or what the problems have been. The purpose of this thread was not to ask for help. I wrote it hoping that people who seem to think I'm being ridiculous or hard headed might understand my reasons for trying to get it under control. This is not something I'm doing on a whim.
This is actually important. I was hoping to put an end to the jabs and underhanded subtle insults.
If you do not regularly host and/or chair very large meetings that are open to the public everyday, then you can't possibly have the same experiences I'm having. I don't expect that of anyone. But it's not okay to insult me or blow me off.
This was the friendliest forum I found when I started using Linux. With the exception of a few people, I don't feel so welcome anymore. I am almost finished accomplishing what I set out to do with Zoom. Yesterday I saw yet one more underhanded comment in another thread. I decided to go else where for help.
I'm not sure moving this thread will do any good or if it's even worth it.
