What text editors do you prefer?

Thanks, very useful information, i intend to try out debian and arch through virtual machines in the not too distant future.
i really like Debian. Its a rock solid distro, i love all debian distros for that. I was taking a cyber security course and noticed that the instructor was running Debian on his laptop so i thought id give it a go! lol Its a great distro will not let you down

that's awesome, i'm currently worried about erasing too much of my data since my windows computer is broken, i'll try to install debian sometime today.

i found install was straight forward on my virtual machine but when i went t put it on my macbook, i would get a weird error something was missing - i probably could of easily sorted it with a bit of research but as im impatient i then went and installed Arcolinux and have been having fun with that distro, its a really user friendly Arch based distro that uses a Gui installer called calamares, you can pick your desktop and alsorts its great

yeah i just got a wierd error as well, there are instructions for fixing it on ubuntu. It's apparently a virtual box issue which is with my limited machine code knowledge un-fixable:

interesting! i cant remember the exact error mine threw but it was possibly missing kernel modules or something of that nature. Because i was installing on real hardware i didnt want the heeadache so i retreated to another distro lol
