A simple off topic question that could get some pretty good answers. what do you listen to, how did you get into it?
I listen to heavy metal and a few sub genres such as groove, thrash, death. Bands like Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, Pantera, Sylosis, Amon Amarth, Bolt Thrower, Lamb Of God, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and so on.
I grew up not really having a particular taste in music but having to listen to whatever was playing in the car with the Mother and that was always just the radio if I recall correctly. My Dad listened to a lot of Clubland stuff, and my sister was a ballet, tap and Jazz dancer so there was always something playing in the house she would be practising to, and the stepdad likes the Beatles, Katie Melua, and whoever did that Windmills of your Mind song.
With how wide that variety is I have no idea what ever made me get into the more extreme stuff I listen to now but I remember I'd always go back to the more heavier songs in video games and then getting into high school I ended up becoming friends with those that liked heavier music. Somebody sent me a few Avenged Sevenfold songs in I.T. class and it just went from there, that was about 17/18 years ago and since then music has just made sense to me. As a kid it was something that was just playing in the background, and now its this whole thing that is a huge part of my life.
Good times, bad times, the absolute lowest moments of my life and everything in between, music is a huge part of it all.
