After watching DistroTube's video about desktop animations, https://invidious.kavin.rocks/watch?v=pqO_y_zSyjA, I'm thinking of installing those as well. Being to customize your computing experience exactly how you want is a perfect example of software freedom.

Update: Because I switched from XFCE to MATE, now I have them preinstalled. I tried playing around with them, but because they're confusing to configure, I'll see if there's a tutorial for them.
I'm going to get a Framework laptop shipped soon! Fedora Silverblue is going to be this time.

I was thinking of getting one myself, but they didn't have all of the parts available the last time I was on their site (which was maybe 3 months ago). Has that changed?

I just got one pre-ordered when they did their last event, by end of March. I'm in Batch 1 for the 3rd Gen with Intel 13th. That night / morning they had everything available.

When I finally have a new job, I'll look into getting one then. The laptop I'm using now is like a beater car. It may not be in the best or newest condition, but it at least works.
Vaniljekaffe det har jeg aldrig prøvet ! måske var det en ide´ men jeg holder mig til en go hjemmebrygget kop kaffe.

I've been exploring EasyOS on my laptop the past week and you know what? It's awsome. Will keep Parrot Home on my workstation, tho. I meant to have a secure laptop OS for a while and ran Puppies on it. Then I found Puli but I can't be bothered by it's (unnecessary) complexity and EasyOS does all the things I was looking for.
Ok so my long time boyfriend just passed away 2 weeks ago and I have his phone he has a pattern lock on it but I don't know what it is. His family wants to see if he has any pictures on it. Since we don't have access to his Google account or any other account. How can I bypass his pattern lock on his samsung a03s phone without losing data or rooting his phone. I'm not sure if he enabled usb debugging.
Dear Tuxbot,
Can you tell me about Snort (an intrusion detection system). After setting up Snort I am worried my device will run too much traffic. What are the positives and negatives of this type of detection system?

While my mom was making dinner by herself, she fell and her nose began bleeding all over, leading her to get fractured nose, lacerations across her nose and right temple, neck issues, and a slight bleeding in her brain. Because both of my parents have declining health and are fall risks, now i don't feel safe with them being by themselves anymore. I'm going to see about getting a live-in caregiver.

Update: Although my parents obviously need a caregiver, we decided the best option is to get one who comes in for a few hours each day, rather than having a live-in (as we don't necessarily have the space for one, and they're expensive). They're in the process of moving to an assisted living facility anyway, so once they're there, they'll be monitored by the staff.

Education is important, but not at the expense of your health, Make sure you give yourself some time out, away from computers and study each day for quiet relaxation or a big chunk of time at the weekends to do something you enjoy outside [sport, jogging, fishing] as long as it is far removed from your daily routine . if you have problems with your Linux we will still be around

@Brickwizard If I even miss one piece of work, which is out of my control, I get a zero. My teachers don't care if I have a good excuse. Im a slave and I don't have another choice.
Dear Mike, I have been using Puppy. I tried to edit a document created in Open Office, using Puppy, and I had to store my changes several times, and Puppy created 3 documents where there was one. Very quirky. I am kind of turned off about Puppy's word processor system. I am wondering whether I should move on to another Linux version. What do you think? JC

Fiddling with custom firejail profiles and comparing the behavior of the application. A great way to learn and to get familiar with it. Great way to pick up some extra knowledge.
I'm testing Silverblue "my way", a.k.a., "let's use no other thing and let's not look back for 6 months at least"
