I am quite upset with the last video of Chris Titus Tech. It's basically showing us how to break debian (minute 14:12) by first removing the sources for security updates, and then switching branches (which leads to a frankendebian)

Good afternoon, I've been working on understanding Linux for a few months now. My knowledge of the English language is very poor and that is why I use Google translate. I have to say: I'm getting better and better.
The software for linux is on a RaspberryPi 3 and I work on it via Putty. Sometimes I wonder if there are any restrictions on the rights through Putty.

We're getting new flooring in the bathrooms at work, so we have to use port-o-potties for the time being. When I using one earlier tonight, I realized that'd be hilarious if someone made a parody of Doctor Who where their version of the Tardis was a port-o-potty. I can see Family Guy doing that.

In need of help figuring out which form of Linux is right for me. I don't like Windows 10, and am not sure I like Windows 8. I much prefer Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional. I was told that Mint and/or Cinnamon might be what I am looking for. I am Tech, Computer, and Internet challenged, and all of the knowledge I have had is very out of date.

Both versions are based on Debian 11 Stable and uses the XanMod LTS Kernel 5.15.45 - It also has LibreOffice 7.3.3, VLC 3.0.16, Firefox ESR 91.10.0, Thunderbird 91.10.0, plus several other internal updates. It also uses the Refracta Installer, which requires some knowledge of partitioning to install

My friend's mom died a year and a half ago, and today would've been her birthday. To make matters worse, he's an orphan because he never met his dad either. To honor her memory, I was talking with him about donating clothing to an orphanage. When I was at work just now, I was asking my coworkers if they have any clothing they'd like to donate, and they either didn't or said they'll check.

I developed gout in my right knee last night, and ended up going to the ER for it because my mom was going there too for consistent gastro problems. We spent practically all day there because the staff are unbelievably slow, and one of them even gave me a bit of an attitude. I have to recuperate for the next 5 days, which means I'll have to miss work, while my mom has to stay overnight.

Away in the North Island in NZ at the moment using an HP Notebook running Linux Lite 4 (Bionic based) 2 gig ram so pretty cheap machine that ran Windows 10 horribly - runs this really well and Linux Lite made the job of installing wireless easy through its easy to install guides.
