If you don't need to do the latter, then you have no practical reason to learn ClamAV.

LibreOffice has rarely been vulnerable to specially crafted "poisoned" documents that attempt to execute malicious code through macros or scripts upon opening -- targeted specifically at Linux machines.

But I'm not sure that ClamAV would catch them. AFAIK, ClamAV is pretty much just limited to signatures.

I once made my living from a leased, "bare metal" RHEL LAMP server. Up to 11 websites were hosted on it.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing -- except I don't expect it to make me any money. I expect it to do the exact opposite, and that's okay. I used to make some extra money doing it, but those days are behind me. It's really just a hobby at this point.
