Solved What are credits used for and how are they earned?

I noticed we get credits and started to wonder how exactly are they earned and spent?
What's their use?

Thank you for reply but I'm not sure about that, the only badge I know of is gold supporter badge which is I suppose gained by donating cash to forums.

But I see I get different amounts of credits from different posts, but not sure what determines the amounts.

Thanks, looks like there are some changes to this because I didn't get a credit for liking your post.
Also some posts are marked as spending credits, I'm yet to figure out how exactly it works.
