Videogame Sountrack

One of my all time favorite video game soundtracks is from Little Big Planet...

Another that's made it's way into my regular playlist is the soundtrack from the 2016 remake of Doom...

I like Little Big Planet!!!!

I've been following the franchise since the first title. I haven't play it yet but I watched a ton of gameplays on YouTube back then. I like how the game is like when you make a school project or when you play with your toys and plushies on your bedroom. It looks like it's that instead of an actual game which is a unique artstyle now that I think of it.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

speaking about doom. I haven't played it either. That kind of games is scary for me. They're good, I admit, just not my type. I listened to some of the tracks on the playlist you shared...

and the sound design it's wonderfully scary for me. It's full of suspense and darkness.

Maybe I could play the game with friends so I don't feel alone but listening to this pieces of music at night it's very frightening

:D

It's good to listen to music at work or anytime!!!

I personally listen to pop music while doing chores sometimes, it's fun!

@Fymgee :-

Xonotic is still going strong today. The Nexuiz community forked this one around 2011, when there was a huge copyright bust-up after the original Nexuiz rights were sold to another game company, Illfonic.....who immediately set about turning it into a proprietary, PAID product, and totally re-writing the concept.

Instead of the Quake-based DarkPlaces engine of the original, the later 'commercial' build by Illfonic switched to Cry Engine 3. This was primarily re-jigged for Xbox, rather than PC.

You can download it here:-

AlienTrap's original Nexuiz:-

This can be downloaded over at SourceForge.....just follow the link in red at the top of the page, directly under the page title. It's interesting to see how the fork evolved from the "parent".....and both games will keep you very busy once ya start playing!

Just be aware; with these two, the player spends probably as much time "bunny-hopping" in mid-air as they do on 'terra firma'..!

Gameplay demo:-

There's also another recent fork called Rexuiz:-

I've only briefly fooled around with this; I'm not so keen on this variant as the other two.

...I've talked to some of the devs and they said it was a mistake that the devs in 1996 made (the game was released in 1997). But it was easier to keep the dir name than rewriting and recompiling the game anew just to fix a typo.

I see... So it's a 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' thing, isn't it?

Software development can be difficult sometimes, especially video games. I once heard on a YouTube video that video games are a miracle as a result because the things that happen before making the game, while making the game and after making the game, if it's not put effort and true passion on it it may never be released or it could be released all broken.

...Cry Engine 3

pfft!

hahahahaha!

cry engine 3!? What kind of name for a game engine is that!!!!!! (they should've chosen something different... I think "scope engine" would fit better as a name for the game engine)

haha!

:D:D:D:D

Thank you very much!

Though I don't consider myself an FPS expert nor even a decent novice player.

I always sucked at FPS multiplayer games, most of the time I die and I can barely shoot somebody.

...

But I guess I can try it once more to see if I can overcome my insecurities as a casual gamer.

Ah, it's all just a bit of fun.....and both of these will let you spend as much time as you want, 'practicing' with the in-house 'bots'.

I'm no gamer, either. At best, I only ever really mess about with these on the rare occasions when I'm not busy doing other stuff. You can forget all this hyper-expensive AAA+ stuff, as far as I'm concerned; there is a TON of free-to-download/free-to-play indie stuff out there, much of which I'm convinced most so-called 'serious' gamers have either never heard of, OR have simply dismissed because they're not developed by big-name game studios.

Their loss..!

(As for 'CryEngine3', well.....it's the 'engine' behind Crysis 2. 'Nuff said!)

it's their loss!!!!!!!!!!

(I say this politely speaking of course hehe)

So do I, that's why I prefer TPS - 3rd person shooters:

Cool!

that actually looks easier for me!!!!

thanks!!!!

is that world of tanks? I heard a lot of it on youtube ads but always skipped it because... you know.... there ads....

Also, is that your youtube channel!? That's pretty sweet, do you usually upload this playthroughs?

how often?

I personally have a strange relationship with youtube, being a youtuber more specifically.
I uploaded this video months ago and the first time I watched it, I tought I sucked pretty badly at it because I didn't go well on it, but then after a couple days I watched again and thought to myself that it wasn't half bad.

src:

That being said, I wish I could upload content online more often but I'm kinda lazy and sometimes I'm just not in the mood to do it.

Work and home chores suck most of my energy and I personally prefer to consume instead of create, tough I like to create things sometimes I hardly ever post anything on youtube.

But I don't want to be famous or anything... Just... Maybe reach 321 subscribers, upload content I like or just non-commentary game playthroughs, receive feedback from my subscribers and anybody in general and also reply to them and what not.

I want to post online but I also want to remain anonymous, because I want to keep going to restaurants, to the cinema or any place (whether alone or with my family) and not be recognized by anybody as I don't want to get damaged by anyone and also don't want people asking me for photographs or autographs either.

I'm an introvert. hehe

----------------------------------------

I also would really like upload more english content since I think my english speaking skills are trash and one fun way I can think of practicing it and eventually improving it is by making content. Otherwise I won't speak that much as I find boring to speak english with myself. (my native language is spanish).

Anyway, speaking about M U S I C:

I have three more gold pieces that you might have not heard of

1.

This one is upbeat, colorful and just fun to even hear it, it might sound a little bit repetitive as with also many other games, their soundtracks tend to be added as loops and maybe with some twist here and there so the final track doesn't sound so lame.

2.

this one is pretty much golden for me, I don't know. I makes me wanna bop to it, it's pretty joyful!

3.

this one I first listened to it on a youtube video I watched some time ago but, I actually never played this game so here it is. (also, I think it's kinda funny how the sound just changes the pitch slowly throughout the seconds).

:)

@Fymgee :-

I started my own YT channel some 8 or 9 years ago, primarily to share 'demo' & tutorial video clips with the 'Puppy' community. Various members had been grumbling that they preferred video instruction as opposed to a 'wall of text' description, so I thought.....ah, why not.

My early attempts were crap, though I HAVE improved as the years have passed. If you're interested, you can find it in my siggie.

It's nowt special, so don't expect too much! :D
