PDF files contain metadata. Many file types contain metadata. This is everything from when the file was created to what application was used to create the file. In image files, you can even have GPS data and shutter speed data.

Some folks think this is a privacy concern - and it can be. You should clean the metadata from pictures when you're going to share them with a large audience and want to retain some privacy.

Anyhow, this article is about PDFs and their Exif data.

Well, it could be about ExifTool. I detail that a bit more than normal but I wanted to show folks how many files contain Exif data that can be read or modified.
 


That reminded me that I need to write an article about aliases and about the .bash_aliases file.

That's one of those articles that might be suitable for AI.
