By now you should know that anything you type in the terminal is (at least by convention) stored in your .bash_history file. This is not true if you're not using Bash, so there's that.

Your .bash_histsory is a pretty useful tool but can become quite cluttered.

You can do a few things about that clutter. This time around, we're talking about how you can avoid saving commonly used commands in the Bash history file.


It'll make more sense if you read it.
