If you're using a desktop Linux, you almost certainly already have a GUI system resource monitor. Well, that's okay. There are more of them out there and you have a choice. In fact, there are all sorts of system monitors - including CLI system resource monitors.

Well, today I show you a new piece of software, one you may not be familiar with:

Today is one of those days when I'd like to introduce you to new software as we learn to monitor system resources with "Resources".

As far as applications go, Resources is pretty cool. It is a Flatpak, so some of you will have to configure that before you can install it. If you're using Mint, among others, you'll find that you needn't take any additional steps to enable Flatpaks. The FlatHub repository should already work for you.

The app/net.nokyan master is not necessarily installed ......this applies to LINUX MINT 21.3

The easiest way to access this is via Software Manager In Linux Mint 21.3

In Terminal, if it is not installed, the error received will be

brian@brian-desktop:~$ flatpak run net.nokyan.Resources
error: app/net.nokyan.Resources/x86_64/master not installed
brian@brian-desktop:~$

Search in Software Manager for Resources ....which will show

Now you will find Resources will appear in the menu when you type that name in....

This a good, handy, 'resource' to have

You have to install it before you can run it...

So, it's there when you install Resources. I like it as a resource monitor. I might cover a couple of other system monitors, both GUI and terminal.
