Have difficulties in booking the live bootable system. When a live bootable system starts to work, the first thing shows up on screen is the grub. And at the same time, a prompter in the upper left corner of the screen. I have noticed that this prompter appeares in three manners: 1. It shows up and disappears, 2. it does not show up, and 3. it shows up and keeps prompting there in the corner.
My question: Which means what?
Thanks.

I think you are going to have to show us some photos. I don't understand what you mean.

Is this on any particular distribution?

When you boot to the Live Session...the Grub Menu appears and the Distro is highlighted...just his Enter.

Thanks.
A bit difficult for me to show a photo or photos. 1. Have cameras. But do not know how to process the shots in Cinnamon, have not yet learnt that. 2. The PC on which I am trying run a lightweight linux distro is actually a set of bare metal. Can't take a screenshot.

It was not on any particular distribution. It was on all of the lightweight distros I have tried. The difference was: one might show a prompting prompter, the other might show a dummy prompter. The result was same, booting failed. PC died or crushed or restarted by itself or stayed in the situation for ever.

Thanks.
No difference whether hit enter or not.

When you hit Enter on a computer with everything working...it boots to the Live Session.

If this were me...the first thing I'd do was swap the HDD and try again.
