Normal.

On Linux this program is mostly obsolete, although still included in many distributions.
On Linux, netstat (part of "net-tools") is superseded by ss

I'm not sure what you're asking here.. netstat is handy to see the connections on your computer.. i'll use it on servers quite a bit to check if the server is listening on various ports, etc..

I haven't used ss much yet, but should get on that
