wi-fi is correctly set up on both printers.It's set on the printer it's self. look in the manual it will tell you if you don't have access to the manual it's available on line here.
once set install and use the hplip-gui tool to setup the printer and manually set that ip address. to install on Debian based distro
other distros have it but the install will be different on Fedora distros it's called hplip graphic tool or something similar. Good luck.Code:sudo apt install hplip-gui
When I hooked up my Cannon, I found so many packages concerning Cups for so many Canon printer models-categories. All had the label cnijfilter name. At least in the Ubuntu repositories. I only needed to add the one that my Canon model fell under. Worked well without troubles. I just had to select the driver in the printer setup that matched my Canon in the specific category. My Canon MB2100 needed the cnijfilter2 package for inkjet models and the specific driver for my Canon was in there. There are tons of Cannon categories depending on certain models in the repository. I didn't even know this as this Canon I use was used on my dad's windows system for quite a few years. A lucky surprise for me.I may have to switch to Canon. Although, the Epson is printing.
I used a simple gui for cups called... system-config-printerI tried to change the printer name and model or add it, but I was unsuccessful. It wouldn't allow me.
It should be easy to make one default, and remove the others if they aren't needed.I reset my modem and router, and now the other printers show up.
I visited both websites. The Epson website does not have drivers for Linux;
Thanks. Did not see that on the site. Will keep it in the back burner for future ref. so far it works via wi-fi and plug and play.Not true...did you go here...

You must type the correct name eg XP-2205. If you just type ET it won't work.![]()
Over the years I have seen so many printer troubles with linux. I had an old Epson for the longest time till it just got too outdated.I've been an Epson man for I can't remember how long.
