I now appreciate the effort put into making a PC !!

Having an understanding of how it all works means I'm not terribly bothered when they break. I expect them to break. Instead, I marvel at it when it does work.

That confuses me a lot. I am not a techy nor am I inclined to go any deeper than I need to. I do not work in IT and as opposed to what you said, I do not expect it to break. Probably should revise my thinking !! I am not even a Linux Fan Boy and am aware of security and privacy issues we face with OS like Windows and OS X..Hence me willing to put some effort to make it work with Linux..
