So I have Win11 in virtualbox.
I also have a LMDE system (with this virtualbox).
I got some movies ripped onto on external drive which I wanted to move to another external drive twice the size. Both connected. One is older, formatted as NTFS. The other one, to which I want to move the files, is exfat, to be compatible with both systems.
On LMDE I got an error message that I didn't have permission to move the folder with movies from one drive to another.
I launched the Win11 in the VM and enabled both drives to be seen by Win11. I am now copying, albeit slowly.
Could it be that I formatted the original drive as ntfs and it was not recognised by the LMDE system? I couldn't open the folder with movies in. When trying to install ntfs-3g, it was already installed though. AI says something about improper mounting or unmounting.
Any ideas? So I get a better understanding. I used this older drive a few months ago, connected to my android tablet and miracasted one movie to my smart TV. So I know the stuff works on that drive.
